By about 1950 or 1951, Bee Ho had added a young lady by the stage name of Hester to his act. She was about 13 at the time she started working with Bee Ho and many people thought she was his daughter. Letters in my collection show that her parents were good friends with Bee Ho and trusted him fully to care for her on the road as they made the vanishing Vaudeville and County Fair circuit for several years. Hester is seen in several photos with trained dogs and in at least one photo spinning a rope. |
