1914 - Three Rope Catch

Bee Ho Gray was known for many unique roping and riding tricks that he developed. Some of these are still performed today and carry his name. For example, the "Bee Ho Gray Free Lazyback" is a trick in which the rider lies down on his back across the saddle while the horse is galloping. Nothing holds the rider on the saddle but his or her own ability to balance.
One trick Bee Ho was very good at was roping a horse and rider with three ropes at once as the horse ran by at a fast clip. This is a trick that Bee Ho invented. According to Sylvester Braun, lifelong trick roper and performer who is 91 years old (as of 2006), Bee Ho not only invented this trick but was the only person who was able to do it for several years.

The photo below was taken in 1914 while Bee Ho was the Champion Trick Roper of the World shortly after he had invented the "three rope catch". It is probably this trick that caused Bee Ho to win and hold the title of "Champion Trick Roper of the World" for several years.
